taken 1 year ago, 4 km from Malham, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

Boggy valley to the west of Malham Tarn
Boggy valley to the west of Malham Tarn
In some areas around Malham Tarn, pale grey limestone and springy turf are replaced by rush and bog in areas where there is a cover of glacial drift on top of a small outcrop of Yoredale shales and grits, which probably accounts for the low hill in the distance being named as 'Black Hill'.
