Former Stanley Colliery baths and canteen
Former Stanley Colliery baths and canteen
A typical National Coal Board baths building of the 1950s. Local miners had campaigned for years for baths at the pit, but did not have much use of them as production ceased in 1961. The baths buildings survive as a factory making kayaks.
