Reading: Great Western Railway 150th Anniversary 1835-1985. The first passenger train on the Bristol and Exeter railway arrived at this station on 1st July 1842. Taunton Deane Borough Council
Taunton Station
Taunton station is a junction station on the route from London to Penzance, 143 miles west of London Paddington station. It is operated by Great Western Railway. It is also served by CrossCountry trains and by the West Somerset Railway on special event days and by mainline steam excursions. The station opened in 1842.
