ST5873 : Odd for a bank

Odd for a bank
Odd for a bank
The former and long-disused bank buildings on Wine Street are a formidable piece of post-war redevelopment. However, the story goes that this particular part of the offices were not standard construction. Rumours are rife that this is no less than a gun emplacement - should the Cold War have become hotter. The thinking is that there are some secret reserves and resources in the depths that would have formed part of the strategy in times of conflict. Today, there is no chance of finding ammunition, nor any left-over pound notes. A seagull paces around for any tasty scraps.
