This gives access from the car park to the westbound platform. You might think that the gentle slope is because it is a ramp for wheelchairs. You would be wrong; it has steps all the way up and down again. So wheelchair users can't actually use it, and the able-bodied have to walk much further than if there had been a conventional set of steps. Curious.
