Start of the Morecambe to Lancaster cycle route
This route starts adjacent to the railway station and uses the trackbed of the former Midland Railway branch, closed in 1966.It now forms part of the Way of the Roses (National Cycle Network route 68).

The buffers to the left mark the end of the reversing loop at the station, used by occasional charter or freight trains.
