Below this point the Cherwell spends much of its course braided into several channels but here, all its flow in one channel and with the weir at Parson's Pleasure downstream keeping water levels high, it is surprisingly deep at some points.
River Cherwell
The River Cherwell is a major tributary of the River Thames. It rises near Hellidon in Northamptonshire and flows south through Oxfordshire for 40 miles to meet the Thames at Oxford.
