SD6242 : Chipping Cricket Pavilion

taken 1 year ago, near to Chipping, Lancashire, Great Britain

Chipping Cricket Pavilion
Chipping Cricket Pavilion
Chipping cricket club is located to the south of the village, and participates in local leagues.
The sign on the pavilion intrigued me. It has a red rose, which I presume represents Lancashire. It also has a white rose - I do not recollect Chipping has ever been part of Yorkshire. Are they honorary tykes?
I can only conclude that Chipping was indeed once part of the West Riding, and they have celebrated this fact by including the white rose on their emblem.
