Woodland management in Brede High Woods
This area is hornbeam coppice with standard oaks. The hornbeam was coppiced in 2005 to create a more open corridor enabling butterflies and other animals to pass more easily from one side of the woodlands to the other. Subsequently it became a good habitat for nightingales.
Brede High Woods is owned and managed by the Woodland Trust.
