Austwick market cross and signpost
Austwick market cross and signpost
Only the base remains of the mediaeval market cross; the pillar itself is a replica from the 1830s. Nevertheless it is grade 2 listed (list entry 1180079). See also SD7668 : Stone Pillar. Next to it is a signpost of the form familiar in the Dales, pointing three ways to Settle, Clapham and Horton.
Austwick
Austwick is a village in North Yorkshire, on the edge of The Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is just off the A65.
