Standing Guard
Standing Guard
A solder stands guard by a Messerschmitt Bf 109E that crashed. This one was flown by flown by Unteroffizier Horst Perez and was shot down by a Sptifire over Beachy Head on the 30th September 1940. This is the actual plane and was sent on show around the US for propaganda finally ending up in a scrap yard where it was found. IWM Duxford bought it off the people who found it and decided to show it as it was in the picture that was taken at the time and you can see in the link
