Gate & stile on new fence near Yearning Hall
Gate & stile on new fence near Yearning Hall
An area of moorland including part of the valley of Blind Burn has been fenced off in advance of native tree planting as part of a Woodland Grant Scheme. Sheep, deer and goats are the main culprits, the latter much harder to keep out. As the gate was locked and the fence high and tight to the ground, the high ladder stile also proved difficult for a large Border Collie. Goats watched with interest from a nearby knoll NT8112 : Wild goats at Yearning Hall

The woodland planting scheme is described here NT8211 : New fence on slopes of Yearning Law above Blind Burn
