HY4408 : The new Memorial to Squadron Commander Edwin Dunning

The new Memorial to Squadron Commander Edwin Dunning
The new Memorial to Squadron Commander Edwin Dunning
This small plaque was unveiled on the 100th anniversary of Dunning's Deck landing (2 August 1917) - see also LinkExternal link
Rear Admiral Keith E Blount, a senior Fleet Air Arm Officer, arrived by air to unveil the plaque and HMS Queen Elizabeth (undergoing Sea trials) anchored in Scapa Bay.
The site of the Memorial might be inappropriate, next to a WW2 Memorial but the old one was rarely visited and, in any case, could hardly be deciphered.
