NS2874 : Path to Whinhill Reservoir

Path to Whinhill Reservoir
Path to Whinhill Reservoir
The view is from 140 metres further along the path that is shown in NS2874 : Path to Whinhill Reservoir. The path is marked on the 1:25000 map.

The north-eastern corner of Whinhill Reservoir is only about 250 metres ahead; however, the reservoir is slightly higher than the point from which the picture was taken, meaning that no part of its surface can be seen from here.

50 metres to the south-west of this spot, and not far to the south of this path, is a pit, which I take to be a bomb crater. The present picture is intended partly to provide some more context for that view.

See NS2874 : Path to Whinhill Reservoir for a view from further along the path, where the reservoir is visible.
