Pump, Market Hill, Woodbridge
Pump, Market Hill, Woodbridge
Grade II Listed pump. The listing dates the pump to 1852 and despite the indication to the contrary it was erected in 1877. Built from funds provided by the Thomas Seckford Foundation, the pump and drinking fountain provided much needed water for the old thriving livestock market. It was installed by R.W.Allen Plumber of Church Street and manufactured by J. Tylor & Sons of London that traded as part of the Crane group until 1974 when it was sold to GEC and broken up.
