Water infrastructure at Maukinhill
There are three structures here, each of which is either marked or named on the 1:25000 map. The present wide-angle view shows all three, in context.

They are:

(1) on the left, a NS2874 : Water shaft, with water issuing from it: NS2874 : Water shaft;
(2) on the right, a NS2874 : Water pumping station, also shown in NS2874 : Water pumping station; and
(3) between them, but a little further away, a NS2874 : Covered reservoir or water tank.

Directly behind the last of those, but only clearly visible in large versions of this image, is Whinhill Reservoir (see Link for various pictures of it).

The Firth of Clyde is in the right background, and the town of Greenock is on the near shore.
