NS2873 : Rock outcrops on the moor

taken 1 year ago, 3 km from Greenock, Inverclyde, Great Britain

Many similar pictures could be taken nearby, but this one serves to illustrate the general appearance of the area.

The Firth of Clyde is in the background, with the town of Greenock on the near shore. Whinhill Reservoir LinkExternal link can be seen in the left background; it is 1.3km to the north-west.

I find the moor scenic in good weather, such as this; there are also some interesting ancient relics (hut circles and enclosures) and a few relatively modern industrial remains (air shafts).
