NS2873 : Dry-stone wall on Burnhead Moor

taken 1 year ago, 3 km from Greenock, Inverclyde, Great Britain

Dry-stone wall on Burnhead Moor
Dry-stone wall on Burnhead Moor
The line of the wall is marked on the 1:25000 map. For a view along it in the opposite direction, see NS2873 : Dry-stone wall on Burnhead Moor.

As noted there, the 1:25000 map shows (at the time of writing) a line of grouse butts nearby, but little or no trace of them survives.

The covers in the foreground of the present picture have GPO markings on them. The Firth of Clyde is prominent in the background, as is the town of Greenock on the near shore. Whinhill Reservoir LinkExternal link can be seen at the far left.
