The anchor of the MSC Napoli
The anchor of the MSC Napoli
A substantial piece of steel; nearly 14 tonnes, and presented to the village after the container ship was beached just offshore after holing in a storm in 2007. This became a national news feature at the time, as a number of containers fell off the ship before the salvage operation really got underway, washed ashore on the beach here, and their contents were swiftly 'liberated' by enterprising visitors.
