York Spiritualist Centre
York Spiritualist Centre
Built in 1872 as a Methodist mission chapel in what was then Wilton Street to serve the area of railway workers' terraced housing in the area. Following the opening of Holgate Methodist Church in Acomb Road in 1910, the chapel was sold to the Railwaymen's Mission. It was later used by the Salvation Army and then York Bridge Club, but was sold to the York Spiritualists in 1999 to become York Spiritualist Centre.
