Wilton Rise
Wilton Rise
Part of an area of mainly railway workers' terraced housing dating from the second half of the 19th Century. Wilton Rise was originally called Wilton Street; the name Wilton Rise was applied to the southern extension of semi-detached housing built in 1930s, part of one of which can be seen on the right of the photo, with the new name subsequently being applied to the whole road. At the end of this terrace can be seen what was built as a Methodist mission chapel, now York Spiritualist Centre.
