Reconstructing the greater hall of a Welsh medieval court, based on the archeological remains of Llys Rhosyr, Anglesey. The thatched roof behind is that of the lesser hall ST1177 : Lesser hall, Llys Llywelyn, St Fagans National History Museum. Progress is slow but the gable ends have been built since September 2016 ST1177 : Llys Llywelyn under construction, St Fagans National History Museum.
St Fagans National History Museum
In 1946 the Earl of Plymouth donated St Fagans Castle and its surrounding grounds for the establishment of an open-air museum. It opened in 1948, originally as the Welsh Folk Museum, and now comprises over 40 buildings from all around Wales representing different historical periods. It is the most visited heritage attraction in Wales.
