Opened in 1890 as "Buckley Junction" by the Wrexham, Mold and Connah's Quay Railway, it was only being served by Wrexham-Bidston line trains when this image was taken. The Junction suffix was dropped in 1974.
View south from the foot-crossing towards Penyffordd and Wrexham from a similar viewpoint to SJ2963 : Buckley railway station, Flintshire taken some six years earlier. The platforms were shortened in 2014.
