View across Coldharbour in the Brede Valley
This is a regularly flooded tributary from the river Brede. The name is said to derive from 'Coal Harbour' reflecting the days when coal barges could get up river this far. It was also probably used by the Romans from the Beauport Park iron works some 3km to the south.
