From above, the sheer size of the Channel Tunnel Terminal is apparent: in terms of disruption to the Cheriton and Newington area it must have been similar to having an airport sited there.
In the far distance, the coastline of Romney Marsh curves in from the right to end, centrally, at the blocky forms of Dungeness nuclear power station. Slightly to the left of that, closer to, a valley marks the site of Cheriton church.
