SO3374 : The road over Stow Hill

taken 1 year ago, near to Bucknell, Shropshire, Great Britain

The road over Stow Hill
The road over Stow Hill
A ridge road, probably once well used by drovers and of even great antiquity follows high ground on the Shropshire side of the Teme. This section in Bucknell Wood has an old road surface and is probably typical of the forest tracks of the area before the building of modern logging roads.

There is a clear discrepancy between different map scales as to the showing of the path network. The position is taken from a GPS unit. It appears that the 1:25,000 map shows the line best.
