Vintage Fordson Model N tractor
The Fordson N was the only tractor being built in the UK during WW2. It was built by the Ford Motor Company in Dagenham and 137,483 tractors were produced between September 1939 and July 1945. In November 1940, Ford changed the colour of their tractors from "Harvest Gold" (orange) > LinkExternal link to green in order to make them less conspicuous when seen from the air. By the end of the war 85% of tractors used on British farms were Fordsons.
