SE5090 : Last tree before the moor

taken 1 year ago, 4 km from Kepwick, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

Last tree before the moor
Last tree before the moor
This hawthorn is the last tree on this path before one reaches the open moor. Its trunk has been worn and polished by many sheep using it as a scratching post. Just over half a mile further west are many more trees, but almost all are part of a large plantation at the edge of Boltby Forest.
