The Somerset Hospital, Froxfield
The east range of these almshouses (nearest the camera) dates from 1694, when they were first founded by the Duchess of Somerset. The frontage was extended westward along the Bath Road in 1775 - to a width of 37 bays in all.

Photo taken after sunset in mid-July. The camera was placed on top of a wall, and the pale blotches are lichen.
