Iddinshall Rough (Moated Site)
Iddinshall Rough (Moated Site)
Hidden among the trees at Iddinshall Rough is a moated site of a Saxon and medieval monastic grange that once belonged to Chester Abbey. This may also have been the site of an old Manor House demolished in the early 1800s.

NB: Interesting to note that the location is named Iddinshall on the OS map and Iddenshall on other sources. Just to confuse things further, the nearby farm is called Iddenshall Grange.
