Barclay again
Barclay again

I had just returned to Caverswall Road Station from a trip on the Foxfield Railway LinkExternal link hauled by Bellerophon SJ9542 : Bellerophon on the Foxfield Railway. Whilst the guy on the right was interested in photographing Bellerophon, I was more interested in her yellow friend. I was fairly sure I'd seen her before shunting coal wagons at Padiham Power Station SD7833 : Padiham Power Station in 1986. When researching information then about the locomotive I came up with the following information:

"The locomotive was not named 'Barclay'; this is in fact the makers' plate, the loco having been built by Andrew Barclay of Kilmarnock, well known for constructing locomotives (principally steam) for industrial users."

So whether this is the same one or one her sisters I can't be certain.
