ST3530 : Ruined church, Burrowbridge

taken 1 year ago, near to Burrowbridge, Somerset, Great Britain

Ruined church, Burrowbridge
Ruined church, Burrowbridge
Built, or not built, in 1793-96. One's first impression is that this is a Georgian folly superbly sited atop Burrow Mump, and indeed the listing suggests it was intended as an eyecatcher, but the truth appears to be that it was supposed to be a church but the money ran out. Grade II listed.
It bears this plaque ST3530 : Plaque on St Michael's Chapel on Burrow Mump.
