Ynysbwllog Aqueduct
Ynysbwllog Aqueduct
Ynysbwllog Aqueduct on the Neath Canal, where the canal crosses the River Neath. This structure replaces the original aqueduct which was partially washed away in a flood in 1979. At 32 metres in length it is the longest single span aqueduct constructed in the UK and was completed in 2008 at a cost of 1.8 million. See SN8001 : Footbridge over the River Neath at Ynysbwllog for the now removed remains of the original aqueduct, as well as SN8001 : Ynysbwllog Aqueduct and SN8001 : Rebuilding Ynysbwllog Aqueduct which show the construction of the new aqueduct.
