Variegated leaves
Variegated leaves
For a wider view of this location see > LinkExternal link. They belong to a plant called Variegated Yellow Archangel (Lamium galeobdolon argentatum), a member of the family of deadnettles. The 'argentatum' in its Latin name refers to the silver-coloured leaves. Originally a garden plant, it is rapidly spreading and can now be found along shaded woodland edges all over the countryside. The plant's over-ground runners root at the nodes and are up to one metre in length.
