Acorn of Ashbourne
Acorn of Ashbourne

According to a plaque on the wall outside: "Acorn of Ashbourne is a family store established in 1992. The main part of the store was once the stables of Horse and Jockey Inn which is the building now occupied by Fresh Choice. Records show that the Inn was built circa 16th Century but ceased trading at the beginning of the 20th Century. The first floor, which is now the Cook Shop, was once a chapel and one of the beams has the date 1736 carved into it, these beams also have carpenters marks indicating joints and the original wooden pegs inserted."
