The Midshires Way

Not as well known as the coastal, Transpennine or Coast-to-Coast paths, this is nevertheless one of the longest of the long distance paths, stretching for 225 miles/362 km between Bledlow in Buckinghamshire and Comstall, Stockport. It passes through Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Greater Manchester.
As a multi-user route, it largely follows bridleways and quiet lanes, but in many places has alternative sections using footpaths away from road traffic.
