Tutsan with ripe fruit, Balcombe Green
This plant of tutsan (Hypericum androsaemum) grows along the path between Balcombe Green and Orchard Way. The fruits change to red and then black as they ripen and are poisonous. Tutsan is listed as an indicator of ancient woodland, but it grows in many non-woodland situations in East Sussex.
