Isle of May lighthouses
Isle of May lighthouses
The three lighthouses facing out from the Isle of May. On the left is Scotland's oldest lighthouse, 'The Beacon', which dates back to the 1630s. Standing in the centre is the Robert Stevenson-built 'New' lighthouse which was completed in 1816 and is still operational, although not manned, today. On the right is the 'Low' lighthouse, built in 1844 to work in conjunction with the Stevenson light.
