The old compensator
The old compensator
Barrow Gurney is the site of three large man-made reservoirs, built to provide drinking water for Bristol and surrounds. Along with them, a compensation reservoir was constructed closer to the village but it has been disused for over a century. The faded signs warns that the area will not take vehicles over 3.5 tons, except with written permission from the authority.
