View NE on Up (DLR) side from Ratcliff Lane. Until 1/7/23 this was 'Stepney' on the ex-London & Blackwall Railway (from 1866 an ex-GER branch off the London, Tilbury & Southend Railway (latterly Midland, then LMS Railways Blackwall branch off the LT&SR main line from Fenchurch Street. It was named 'Stepney East' from 1/7/23 until closed 4/5/26 to passengers, 6/3/67 to goods. In 1987 it was renamed 'Limehouse' in May and in July, the Blackwall platforms were rebuilt, prior to completion of the first phase of the revolutionary Docklands Light Railway from London (Tower Hill/Bank) in September.
