Cameron House was built in the 18th century for the Smollett family. In 1989 it was bought by the Craigendarroch Timeshare Company who spent £20 million converting into a 5 star hotel and leisure complex. In 1998 De Vere Hotel Group acquired it for 16 million pounds.
