Wild flower display at roundabout
The roundabout is at the crossing of the A68 and A689 between Wolsingham and Crook.
A number of locations in County Durham have seen wild flower areas created, both at roadside verges and at roundabouts. It's all very attractive and environmentally friendly and so must be applauded but it surely has more to do with low maintenance and cost cutting than with prettiness.
It's a good deal more attractive than an alternative, even lower cost approach to maintenance which has seen shattered slate fragments covering roundabouts.
