East Park - rugby pitch
This is Hull's largest public park, comprising 130 acres. It opened in 1887 to celebrate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee; the boating lake was added after the First World War, and the "water splash" ride in 1929.

The park was restored with the help of a major Heritage Lottery Grant in the early 2000s. Present facilities also include a smaller model boating lake, formal flower gardens, rugby pitch, bandstand, a modern pavilion with cafe and toilets, bicycle hire, donkey rides, aviary and "animal education centre".

The park is listed grade II; the list description gives a detailed history of the facilities added and removed over the years.
