1 Post Office Cottages, Ketton Road, Upper Hambleton
The first in a range of three Grade II Listed cottages of loosely symmetrical late 19th century arts and crafts design. Number 1 carries a clock and plaque marked AD 1898 HAMBLETON POST & TELEGRAPH OFFICE. The cottages were built by a Walter Marshall; from about 1892 and working virtually continuously till his death in 1899 he moved or replaced many, even most, of the old cottages at the centre of the village.
