Medieval brass lectern, St Mary's Church, Redenhall
This amazing medieval brass lectern was found in a ditch near Gawdy Hall. It dates from about 1500. There are about 10 medieval lecterns in Norfolk and only 40 metal lecterns nationwide. This one is unique because its eagle has two heads. Their beaks are open and there is a filled-in slot at the end of the tail, indicating that alms and donations could be placed in it.
