Damp meadowST4286 : Damp meadow, Magor Marsh Nature Reserve, The low building on the left is the Gwent Wildlife Trust's Derek Upton Centre, an education centre used mainly for children. The centre and the parked cars are on the far side of Whitewall Reen which forms the eastern boundary of the meadow.
Magor Marsh
Magor Marsh was obtained in 1963 by the Gwent Wildlife Trust as its first reserve.
It is the last relatively natural area of fenland on the Gwent Levels.
Part of it is currently (September 2016) under the threat of compulsory purchase from the Welsh Government’s proposed M4 Relief Road development.
