O'Grady Tower House, Tuamgraney
O'Grady Tower House, Tuamgraney
The O'Gradys were the principal ecclesiastical family in Ireland in the 14th and 15th centuries, including archbishops and bishops amongst their number. The Tower House was built in about 1500 for the protection of the nearby monastery. The present aspect is rather spoilt by the proximity of a large handball court.
