Out in the harbour, the upright piles will eventually be integrated into a marina curve, for which planning permission was granted by Dover District Council under application number DOV/15/01254 for the “reduction of ramps to either end of sheet pile section and construction of cargo berths and marina curve, to be attached to masonry section”, while quite near to the piles is the hopper barge Wadden 1. Just off the beach is a dredger. The ramps, which the planning application refers to, formed part of the Prince of Wales Pier.

TR3140 : Dover Western Docks The view hasnt changed much in 20 years - except for the lack of ferries or hovercrafts sadly.
I guess the Chunnel has had a big effect on Dover Western - a previous post in the last week or so mentioned ferries no longer run from Folkestone now.
Glad to see the lighthouse cafe still there in the centre - at least that's safer from passing ferries now :)
