But no room for any sheep inside. Just huge blocks of stone.
But some of the big stones have drill marks where explosive has been inserted, this is no ancient monument!
It's an Andy Goldsworthy creation. I've seen his earlier works but here I've hit the real thing totally by accident.
Google 'andy goldsworthy rock art' for more examples.

Inquiring of the landowner, Lord Devonport, he informed me the structure was called 'Stone Gathering' and was by Andy Goldsworthy. It was the artist's first stonework and Lord Devonport had introduced him to the idea. It was built of local stone from a local quarry more than 20 years ago.
Andy Goldsworthy went on to design 46 sheepfolds, washfolds and pinfold structures that were built or repaired by professional local wallers across Cumbria. A book, Andy Goldsworthy Sheepfolds, tells of the 46 folds but does not mention 'Stone Gathering' which was the very first one.
