Medieval memorials
Two marvellous memorials in St.Andrew's church.
In the foreground is a coffin-shaped slab of Purbeck Marble of c1250 with Lombardic inscription "Sire Walter Bec ice de ki alme Deus ait merci" ..... "Sir Walter Bec lies here beneath on whose soul God have mercy".
Behind is a mutilated effigy of an unknown knight, thought to be Sir Henry de Halton c1350
